Suddenly, Alberto

I wasn't paying much attention to Iplehouse this month-- and while I was busy looking at Granado dolls, Iplehouse snuck out Alberto and his backstory, which makes me think someone at Iplehouse should be writing novels on the side (or maybe they are). Anyway, I think he's pretty cute and he is the good SID size--bigger than the standard NYID, but not the enormous EID size. He also has a really nice outfit. I suspect Iplehouse is still going to weasel money out of me for their beautiful clothes, even when I am out of doll space.

  1. Perhaps someone should start a 12 step Iplevention program? Heheheh.
He looks like Carina's brother, with that broad nose bridge. I always love how Iplehouse keeps the 'family' look to their dolls. Like the younger ones always look like the older ones just in case you are just a tad crazy and like to watch your dolls grow up. Fortunately I had a friend who yanked me back from the edge there when they first came out.

  2. And do let me add: that wig! It's so Belle Epoque! I haven't read the story, but I'm betting he's a Mississippi card shark of italian/french extraction. If someone wanted to redo G.W.T.W. he'd be a great Rhett.

See, I didn't do more than peek at the site and he's already trying to inveigle me into robbing a bank.

    1. He looks like a handsome Spanish guy to me--I'd be tempted to make a Zorro out of him. And that wig is wonderful--I don't know if they will be selling it as sometimes they make custom ones for the photography.

    1. No, as much as I like him--the Iple dolls are just expensive enough I find I don't play with them, because I worry about damaging them. But in a few years if I see a used Alberto, with a little yellowing or some scratches, I will pick him up .:D
