Some Navy Breeches

These aren't historically accurate--the real fall-front breeches are incredibly complicated, with front and back openings, buttons, tape, linings, hidden pockets and mysterious gussets. I just took my painter's blue tape and made a form for his legs so I would get the sizing right. I did add a panel in the rear seat to see if I could fix the "Sit down and your waist band ends up far lower than it should" problem that happens with human pants, too. Although I didn't get the two seams lined up perfectly in the back (my next ones will me much better) this extra room in the seat makes a big difference in how nice they look while sitting.

I still have to add the waistband and the knee bands, and make a re-usable pattern from the rough pieces I have.
