Ereshkigal Done

Well, done as far as turning in my last photo entry for the Granado contest, and for the moment while I clean up and recopy some of her patterns onto something better than scratch paper. I ended up making two crowns for her, one with pearls and one with garnets... and then she ended up wearing sculpey horns that I made ages ago for the photoshoot. Though you can't see it, she was wearing shoes :D. Here is one of the crowns:

Here is how I ended up finishing the back of the dress--the rings are by Darice and are called "Chain Maille" and I am sure with a dowel and some bolt cutters and patience you can make your own, but I was lazy and I just bought these.

I love that you can flip them up to string them, and the fat ribbon actually works very well--you can thread it through the rings easily, but it has enough tooth to stay put when laced. Black silk ribbon might be nice too, but I don't have any. Here is the hook that holds the collar shut--I need to adjust the pattern and make a new collar, with something less difficult to sew with. The collar sort of hides the color difference between the NS painted head and the Bronze body, so I like having it, but it's not cut quite right.

The Granado photo contest runs until the end of February, I hope they get lots of entries! The ones last year were fabulous.

  1. Oh thank you! Well, I suspect there will be a lot of amazing photos--I am hoping to get a discount though so I can get a head on my bronze girl body :D They say you can't publish any of the entries until after the contest (so there is no copyright problem, I think), so I am holding off until mid March when they announce the winners. I hope you entered too--I love your flappers and handsome boys! And you can never have enough of those :D

  2. She looks wonderful! Very Magestic and dignified! And I love how that shawl fabric mimics folded wings on her. I opened the pics in another window to get a better look at them, but they are the same size. *pouts* I'd love a better look. Good luck with the contest entry!

    1. I'll take more photos in March! I kind of want to keep her a bit out of sight until the contest is done, but then I will put up the cloak pattern (it's hardly a pattern even) and a closeup of the fabric. I have more things I want to make for her but I have other people with nothing so I am trying to catch up a little :D
